FREE Resources to Celebrate National S.T.E.M. Day

Written by Eleyo Blog | November 8, 2017

All you have to do is attend a conference or walk through a school’s hallway to know how important Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) is to childcare and enrichment programs. The earlier it is introduced to children, the more interested they become as long as they are having fun. How can an after-school program keep coming up with new STEM activities to keep children interested?

There are so many fun ways to incorporate STEM to encourage children’s imagination. We did a little research ourselves and found the following FREE resources that you could use in your after-school program.

The National AfterSchool Association (NAA) has 21 different STEM Gem activities on their site that you can download and use in your program.

Crazy 8s Club is a math club specifically designed for recreational after-school programs. The great thing is the curriculum is built for children with a wide range of abilities so that all children can participate.

Education professionals around the world to research and design activities that inspire creativity, from life-sizing coding, to coming up with unusual ideas about how to use an everyday object.

When it comes to Earth Space Science, why not go directly to the experts at NASA? Not all the activities available through NASA Wavelength are free, but they are definitely worth checking out.

Bring lots of smiles to your afterschool program with a wide range of STEM activities from Howtosmile. The website also provides estimated costs for materials needed to do the activities and experiments.

Eleyo understands how important creativity and science are to developing the future minds of this world. Without being inspired ourselves, we wouldn’t be able to produce software to help childcare administrators across the U.S. spend more time with the children and less time on registration and reporting. Thank you to all the educators present and past who have made sure STEM was a priority!
